Archbishop John Riley of Seattle, a noted leader in the conservative movement within the Catholic Church, is murdered inside La Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe in Puerta Vallarta Mexico, while celebrating Mass for a meeting of Opus Dei. Defrocked Bishop Harry Boyle, humiliated by John Riley for his liberal leanings, set this plot in motion. Radical elements of the leftist movement in the Seattle Archdiocese give him moral support and money. The U.S. government blames the Mexican drug cartels. The Mexican government blames the U.S. intelligence apparatus. The Vatican just wants it all to blow over and go away lest dangerous secrets are revealed. Private detective and cyber sleuth Grady Marcs, along with Jalisco State Police Captain Olivia Morro, are left to sort through the unsavory and violent truths.
My newest novel Double Cross will be released mid Dec ember 2016. Just now finishing up edits and re-writes. Imagine the culture wars in the Catholic church spinning out of control to the point where ultra left leaning elements of the church plot the successful murder of a newly appointed conservative Archbishop of Seattle. My character Grady Marcs has his work cut out for him in this one!!!
